Motorcycle Crash Sends Rider To Hospital, Heart Attack Suspected Cause

A motorcycle crash that landed the rider in the hospital Wednesday afternoon may have been caused by a heart attack.

Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Cade Hill told the Herald this morning the man was stabilized at Northern Montana Hospital before being flown to Benefis Medical in Great Falls, where he is now in stable condition, as far as he knows.

Hill said further investigation indicates the man may have suffered a heart attack, prompting him to lose control of the motorcycle, after which he veered toward the curb before he was thrown off the bike as it rolled.

The crash happened sometime around noon. Police had closed the eastbound lanes and traffic was being diverted.
