The following are Havre Police Department and Hill County Sheriff’s Office reports. Both agencies respond to animal control calls as well.
Friday, March 20
8:44 a.m., U.S. Hwy 2. A camper was vandalized.
12:38 p.m., First Street restaurant. A caller asked for police help in getting her paycheck.
4:03 p.m., Fourth Avenue business. There were two vehicles with smashed windows and two men in the parking lot, a caller reported. One of the men was holding a bat.
7:49 p.m., Second Street. Police arrested a 58-year-old Havre man on charges of DUI and driving with a suspended or revoked driver’s license.
8:06 p.m., Fifth Avenue. Police investigated a reported scam.
8:10 p.m., 16th Avenue and Second Street. A woman was sitting in an alley.
10:51 p.m., Fifth Street. The neighbors were being loud and peeing in the alley.
11:53 p.m., Fourth Avenue. A caller reported that people knocked on his back door and now were sitting in a pickup across the street.
Saturday, March 21
12:18 p.m., Fifth Avenue and 14th Street. Someone reported their vehicle had a window shot out and the tires slashed.
2:53 p.m., Second Street. Someone wanted to speak to an officer about a man harassing her.
3:07 p.m., U.S. Hwy 2. A black four-door pickup was blowing black smoke. The complainant called again at 4:24 p.m., saying the pickup was blowing black smoke again.
3:22 p.m., Lincoln Avenue. An injured, white fluffy dog was headed south on Lincoln Avenue.
3:25 p.m., Second Street. A caller told police her landlord was ripping out her carpets.
4:01 p.m., Fourth Avenue. A black pack was sitting on the corner of the street.
4:47 p.m., Sixth Avenue. Two men were trying to fight. Police arrested two men: a 37-year-old Havre man on disorderly conduct and resisting arrest charges and a 48-year-old Havre man on a disorderly conduct charge.
8:39 p.m., First Street convenience store. Police investigated a report about two stolen cases of beer.
Sunday, March 22
2:20 a.m., First Street store. A suspicious person was reported. Police arrested a 31-year-old Havre man on a theft charge.
7:13 a.m., Fourth Avenue. Someone accidentally dialed 911 when they dropped their phone.
7:34 a.m., Fourth Street. Someone was missing her keys. She asked police to stop whoever was driving her car if it were to move from where she parked it.
3:26 p.m., 10th Street. A silver car went flying down the street into oncoming traffic and around a jogger, and almost hit another car.
4:45 p.m., Second Street. Someone had a cooler and some ice bags show up on their porch.
4:55 p.m., Fifth Avenue and Third Street. A caller reported that a green Chevy pickup didn’t stop for him at the crosswalk.
Monday, March 23
1:35 a.m., Lincoln Avenue. A caller reported hearing sounds like a little girl screaming outside.
2:46 a.m., Second Street. Police investigated a situation in which juveniles were hiding. Officer ticketed three people on endangering the welfare of children charges and three juveniles on charges of minor in possession of intoxicants.
3 a.m., 10th Street. Two women were fighting, a caller reported. Police arrested a 19-year-old on an assault charge.
5:53 p.m., South Washington. A man was running his dog on a county road, which is against the law, the caller reported. No further action was required.
Tuesday, March 24
10:04 a.m., First Street. A wild turkey was reported in Town Square. The turkey wasn’t aggressive and was allowed to migrate its way out of town.
11:51 a.m., College Road. Someone was testing an elevator phone when they called 911.
2:07 p.m. A caller asked police to check local pawn shops for his stolen things.
2:36 p.m., Second Street. A caller reported that an intoxicated woman was sitting in front of his house and riling up his dogs, then left and walked westbound.
4:20 p.m., Third Street. A caller said she put the wrong address on some mail, and after it was delivered, the person who received it wouldn’t give it back.
6:57 p.m., Havre. A man was yelling about an orange vehicle that was following him.
10:23 p.m., Montana Avenue. Someone reported a strange odor.
11:09 p.m., Boulevard Avenue. Juveniles were being loud and trespassing.
Wednesday, March 25
2:16 a.m., 13th Street (Northern Montana Hospital). A woman threatened to rob a bank.
7:39 a.m., Second Street. A caller asked police to remove the person who was banging on his door.
9:23 a.m., Maple Drive. A caller reported a brown dog in her yard.
3:42 p.m., Fifth Street. A caller reported that her truck was stolen while she was in jail.
4:33 p.m., Fourth Street. Kids were playing on a snowbank with no supervision, a caller reported.
6:35 p.m., Lincoln Avenue. Police investigated after receiving a report from a caller who said that his son’s significant other hit him in the head with a pipe.
9:43 p.m., 12th Street. A caller complained that someone was playing loud music in a camper all the time.
Thursday, March 26
12:47 p.m., Main Street. Someone asked for police help in getting her grandson off the train. The caller then asked police to disregard the request because her son was going back to Shelby.
4:56 p.m., Wilson Avenue. A caller reported there was a dog in her truck that wouldn’t stay out of her yard.
7:33 p.m., Havre. A caller had a question about traveling.
9:38 p.m., 12th Street. The neighbor had someone banging on the door, cussing and yelling.
10:21 p.m., First Street. Someone reported finding drugs. Police investigated the matter.
11:19 p.m., Havre. Police arrested an 18-year-old on charges of assault with a bodily fluid and minor in possession of an intoxicant, as well as eight misdemeanor warrants.
