The following are Havre Police Department and Hill County Sheriff’s Office reports made between March 27 and April 2. Both agencies respond to animal control calls as well.
Friday, March 27
7:43 a.m., 13th Street. A Northern Montana Hospital caller reported a combative person on the fifth floor.
8:21 a.m., Second Avenue. Someone texted 911 saying that people were trying to break in. The person then called at 9:03 a.m., saying the people were back, trying to break in — then said no one was around, the neighbor had the TV on. The person called again at 9:27 a.m., saying the people were back, kicking in the door.
1:03 p.m., Second Street. A caller reported her boyfriend was freaking out.
2:04 p.m., First Street convenience store. A caller reported that her daughter punched her in the face. Police arrested a 29-year-old Havre woman on charges of attempted robbery and partner or family member assault.
4:16 p.m., Fourth Avenue. Someone reported finding an uncapped needle in his yard. He asked that an officer come over and dispose of it.
4:51 p.m., First Street convenience store. Someone drove off with $10.66 in gas, a caller reported.
5:21 p.m., 26th Avenue. Someone found a backpack.
10:05 p.m., First Street. Two men were harassing people.
Saturday, March 28
12:10 a.m., First Street. Drunken men were climbing on construction equipment next to Zip Trip.
2:53 a.m., Second Street. Someone called asking for police assistance. There was lots of yelling in the background. The incident was resolved peacefully.
11:20 a.m., 16th Street. A man was on a four-wheeler with a baby. Police issued a verbal warning.
12:02 p.m., Havre. Someone wanted to know about travel restrictions.
1:10 p.m., Havre. Someone wanted to know about the governor’s stay-at-home directive.
1:10 p.m., Havre. Another caller had questions about the stay-at-home directive.
2:02 p.m., Ninth Street. A caller reported that a dirty, 1990s model Chevy pickup went flying by his house.
5:43 p.m., Second Street. A caller reported his work van was stolen. Police ticketed two people, one on charges of DUI and driving with suspended or revoked driver’s license and the other on a charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
6:40 p.m., Havre. A caller wanted to know where they could go and not get in trouble.
7:05 p.m., Havre. A caller wanted to know if they could go out to Fresno Reservoir.
10:16 p.m., Havre. Someone was trying to reset their phone but dialed 911 instead.
Sunday, March 29
9:28 a.m., Havre. A caller had a question about a stay-at-home order.
12:53 p.m., First Street business. Police investigated a report about missing pills.
12:55 p.m., First Street store. A grocery store manager reported that two drunken people wouldn’t leave the store and were trying to shake everyone’s hands. Police issued a verbal warning.
2:19 p.m., Hill County. A caller wanted to speak to an officer about a kidnapping and assault.
2:35 p.m., Second Street soup kitchen. A drunken woman was on the ground crawling and screaming.
5:08 p.m., 11th Street. A caller said a jacked-up Ford pickup had been “screaming” past their house all weekend.
9:01 p.m., Second Street. Someone had been screaming, yelling, and cussing for unknown reasons, a caller reported. Police ticketed two people, each for assault.
Monday, March 30
8:51 a.m., 15th Avenue. Police investigated a report about a stolen air compressor.
10:17 p.m., 12th Avenue. A caller reported that someone left a bike in his yard.
12:25 p.m., 900 block of the alley between Second and Third streets. Two men were going through the garbage cans and leaving all the garbage on the ground.
12:46 p.m., Havre. Someone wanted to know if they could travel to their farm in light of the stay-at-home directive.
12:55 p.m., Ninth Avenue. A caller wanted to speak to police about men digging through the garbage.
2:58 p.m., Havre. A woman was taking pictures of her, a caller reported.
3:33 p.m., Seventh Avenue. A man was holding a sign and yelling. Another man argued with him before leaving.
6:36 p.m., Second Street. Police investigated a report involving stolen food.
9:35 p.m., First Street convenience store. Someone reported that a woman was being belligerent. Police arrested a 31-year-old Havre woman on several charges, including endangering the welfare of children, aggravated DUI, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Tuesday, March 31
8:16 a.m., Havre. A man was sleeping under a tree.
9:52 a.m., Third Avenue, First Street and Second Street businesses. Dispatch received three calls from people who had questions about the stay-at-home directive.
10:21 a.m., Washington Avenue. Someone found a bloodhound under her porch.
3:35 p.m., 13th Street and Fifth Avenue. A caller said the driver of a red F-350 was being reckless, almost hit them, and didn’t use the turn signal at a light.
4:06 p.m., 14th Street. A Sunnyside School caller said some high school kids jumped the fence after all the school playgrounds were locked.
8:48 p.m., First Street business. Police investigated a report involving a beer theft.
Wednesday, April 1
12:29 p.m., First Street business. A suspected shoplifter was back in the store.
2 p.m., First Street convenience store. Someone stole beer, a caller reported. Police arrested a 51-year-old Harlem man on a theft charge.
4:06 p.m., Havre. Someone reported he slid into a parked car.
4:35 p.m., First Street convenience store. A man in a black Carhartt coat stole beer.
10:12 p.m., 10th Street. A man was walking around with a war club and yelling.
Thursday, April 2
12:41 a.m., Ninth Avenue lodging business. People were partying.
11:50 a.m., 15th Avenue and First Street. Police arrested a 34-year-old Harlem woman on charges of disorderly conduct, assault with bodily fluid, and resisting arrest, as well as on a warrant.
1:44 p.m., First Street business. A caller reported a beer theft. Police ticketed a 51-year-old Harlem man on a shoplifting charge.
4:06 p.m., 10th Street. Police investigated a reported theft of a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am.
6:40 p.m., Second Street Northwest. Deputies investigated after receiving a report about a dog killing chickens.
8:53 p.m., 17th Street. A man and woman had been fighting for the last 45 minutes, a caller reported. Then two men were arguing, one of whom took off north on 17th Street.
9:04 p.m., Second Avenue. A caller told dispatch there was a Chevrolet Suburban driving around the area very slowly and parking where it couldn’t be seen.
10:02 p.m., 10th Street. There was a fight outside — three guys and a girl.
