Rocky Boy Man Dies After High-Speed Pursuit – Independent News of the Hi-Line

A Rocky Boy man died early Wednesday morning after rolling a pickup into a Blaine County field.

Rowdy Denny, 18, died at Benefis Health System in Great Falls after leading Blaine County and Fort Belknap law enforcement officers on a high-speed pursuit, said Lt. and Sheriff-elect John Colby of the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office.

The pursuit began Tuesday at 8:38 p.m., Colby said, when a Blaine County deputy tried to pull over Denny near mile marker 421 on U.S. Highway 2. Denny was traveling westbound and was suspected of auto theft.

Denny didn’t obey commands to pull over and the pursuit began.

Denny led officers north on Elloam Road and lost control of the Dodge pickup he was driving after the road turned to gravel, Colby said.

He was thrown out of the pickup by the force of the crash. He was taken to Northern Montana Hospital and then flown to Benefis Health System in Great Falls where he died the early hours of Wednesday.

Montana Highway Patrol are still investigating the incident and there is no information yet on whether drugs or alcohol were involved.
