Sears Hometown Stores in Havre is closing and leaving the Holiday Village Mall July 23.
There will be a lot of good deals for shoppers until then, said Dustan Carlson, a manager at Sears Hometown.
Employees were told their store was closing Wednesday, Carlson said. Carlson deferred further questions to the public relations company handling media inquiries.
A press release from Fishman Public Relations says: “Sears Hometown and Outlet Stores (SHOS) is always evaluating our network to determine which communities are best served by our stores. In some cases, for a variety of reasons, we opt to close certain stores. We thank the customers of Havre for their loyal support of the Sears Hometown Store and encourage them to visit http://www.searshometownstores.com/store-locator to find the nearest open store location.”
The Great Falls Sears is also closing, Carlson said. That leaves the closest Sears, according to store locater link, at 3120 Dredge Drive in Helena.
Sear’s closing comes on the heels of Herberger’s announcement in April that it too was closing. The Bon-Ton department store chain, which owned Herberger’s, went bankrupt and was sold to a liquidation company.
