Judge Finds Cole-Hodgkinson Guilty of Contempt, Allows Delay and Appeal of House Arrest – Independent News of the Hi-Line

Justice of the Peace Judge Audrey Barger sentenced this afternoon former Hill County Attorney Jessica Cole-Hodgkinson to six days house on three contempt of court charges but has granted a delay and appeal of the $1,500 fine and arrest.

Barger said the sentence would be carried out within 30 days and have the former county attorney a $1,500 fine.

Barger said Cole-Hodgkinson’s behavior during her tenure was “unacceptable to the court.”

Correction: The Herald misreported in the first version that Cole-Hodgkinson received jail time. The judge replaced jail time with house arrest so as not to waste taxpayer money or put the former prosecutor in danger.
