Teenage Girl Killed In Hit And Run On Rocky Boy’s Reservation – Independent News of the Hi-Line

Law enforcement is investigating a fatal hit and run that happened Thursday night on the Rocky Boy’s Indian Reservation.

A 16-year-old girl was “directly” hit by a driver in a Dodge Journey minivan when she ran out into the intersection of Buttercup and Laredo roads about 11 p.m., according to the Montana Highway Patrol, which is investigating the accident.

The victim ended up on the side of the road and was declared dead at the scene.

The suspect drove off and remains at large.

MHP is handling the crash investigation, while tribal police and the FBI are investigating the criminal aspect of the case.

MHP trooper Kade Hill said pieces of the suspect’s vehicle were found at the scene. The vehicle is believed to be dark-colored.
